If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook or yearbooks, please send your money (cash or check) with your oldest student on or before Wednesday, April 27th with the following information: Name / Grade / Teacher / # of Copies / Total Amount.

Cost per book is $8.

Please send one check per family.

Yearbooks will only be available to those who pre-order.

Peak Reader

Wanted: Reflection Chairperson

Currently, nobody has signed up to be chairperson of the Relection Committee. If you are interested please let me know as soon as possible. If I do not receive a response or if no one is interested in the position, Meadow will not be participating in Reflections next year. The chairperson would also need 2 or 3 people to be on the committee. Again, please let me know ASAP is you would like to take this on for next year.

Safety Issues @ City Council

Lehi City has hired Hales Engineering to study the safety issues concerning pedestrians along 200 South and also in front of the school on 500 West. They will be discussing their recommendations at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 12th at 7:00 p.m.. It would be a good idea to show our support for this important issue by attending the City Council Meeting that evening.

There is going to be a SCC/PTA meeting on Thursday, September 30 at 10:00. The district is coming and will talk about this year and the next bond. Possibly talking about the new school they propose to build in Meadow boundaries.

Online Scheduling for Parent Teacher Conference

You can schedule your appointments for Parent Teacher Conference now by using the 'Online Scheduling,' which can found on the schools website.

Scheduling will end on Tuesday, September 29th. After this date the system will no longer open and your child's teacher will contact you about your assigned time.

If you do not have access to a computer or the internet, a computer is available for you in the Media Center.

Conferences will be held on October 6th & 7th from 4 pm to 7:30 pm.

Kindergarten conferences will be held from 1 pm to 7:30 pm.

Aide Positions

Minimal Day Lunches

Mondays are usually pizza day, be the students will be served sack lunches on minimal days to facilitate making sure each student has time to eat.

~ You must show I.D. when checking students out or visiting students during school hours. ~

~ When volunteering or visiting the school, you must wear a visitors name tag. ~

BOX TOPS & CAMPBELL'S LABELS

Thank you to everyone for the the great response to Box Tops & Campbell's Labels this year. As a reminder there are two collection boxes in the front office. One for Box Tops and one for Campbell's Labels. Please try to separate them. there are also 'Collections Sheets' in the front office by the boxes. The collection sheets are completely different for the Campbell's Labels. As some of you know, Campbell's Labels are based on a point system. Each UPC is either a 1, 5, or 10 point UPC. There are 1, 5, and 10 point collection sheets for those separate UPC's. You are also free to just put tyour box tops or campbell's labels in the collection boxes without collection sheets. (The sheets just make it easier for me to count). Please try to avoid putting in expired box tops. Unfortunately, we can not turn those in. Thanks again for everyon'es great participation.

Help Needed to Move in to the New Building

We are going to be moving into the new building on Tuesday, September 14th! We need all the help we can get. However, this is an 18 and older activity. The move will start at 4 pm. We would and will appreciate anyone who could and can help with the move.

Reflections ~ "Together We Can"

The Meadow Elementary PTA is excited to support the national reflections program this year. The Reflections theme for 2010-2011 is "Together We Can."

We want to know how your child interprets "Together We Can." This is more about the expression of your child's ideas rather than perfection. Your child can draw, compose, write, sculpt, and design projects. Entries can be made in any of the following eight categories: Literature, Muscial Composition, Photography, Dance Choreography, Film/Vido Production, Visual Arts, Theatre, and Three Dimensional Art. Independent judges determine the winners for Meadow Elementary.

This is such a fun opportunity for children to learn and grow. We will be having incentives for the classes with the most participation, and each child will be recognized for their participation. Please help your child(ren), but do not do it for them. The entries for reflections will be due by Wednesday, October 13th, before fall break begins. Entry forms can be found at http://www.utahpta.org/prog/reflections.

5K Fundraiser

In Partnership with 26.2 running and Costa Vida, Meadow Elementary PTA presents its 5K/Fun Run Fundraiser.

We will start the race and end the race at Meadow Elementary (176 South 500 West, Lehi)

Prizes will be awarded to top three winners in every age category.

Overall Man and Woman WIN 6 month membership to Golds Gym!

All Kids who participate in Fun Run will receive ribbons and top 3 kids in each age division will win prizes from Jack and Jill bowling!

Pre-register to guarantee a T-shirt!

We will have food and water including Costa Vida will be there handing out wheat tortillas and coupons for free food at thier restaurant!

All funds will go to Meadow Elementary PTA.

Please come help support our school PTA in prompting Health and Fitness in our children.
